The official blog of the United Aid International (www.unitedaid.org). Founded and directed by Professor Alex Ik Ikeme since 2001, United Aid International (UAI) is a charitable, voluntary, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria.
The primary focus of UAI is poverty alleviation especially, among rural dwellers where over 50% of the population of Nigeria lives. Since our inception, we have thrived mainly by adding value to rural economic efforts by extending the value chain of economic and commercial activities in rural areas. The other very important aim of the UAI is to bring the world’s poor to the path of poverty by inculcating into women, youths, children and professional the culture of enterprise. What is today called UAI started of as a charity where the founder regularly distributed money and food to the poor but realizing the in-sustainability of this approach, UAI was founded to teach people how to finish instead of giving people fish.
